"Good Crowd, Bad Venue"

We went to a PurrfectLV party at Mix, on top of THEhotel recently and left with "mixed" opinions. The most important part, the people who attended the event, were very good--attractive, friendly, and there were many to choose from. The PurrfectLV people themselves--the hostess, the downstairs greeter, even the "security" guy were more than fine.
The problem we had was with the venue itself. While Mix itself is a very nice lounge with a fantastic view (even in the restrooms!), the upstairs lounge isn't a very good place for a lifestyle mixer. The area is quite dark, making it difficult to pick out people you know or want to meet, the music is loud (making it hard to talk--we both almost went hoarse), the cig smoke from below rises up, it was very warm (the heat rising up, too) and it took quite awhile to get a drink from the incredibly hot waitress which means you had to go up and down the narrow steps to the bar (or restroom) regularly. The fantastic view of the Strip was also mostly blocked--why did they build it that way?
I'm not sure what Mix had in mind when they created this space but it wasn't for lifestyle mixers. And it wasn't only us who felt this way as many other couples expressed a similar opinion and either left early or went downstairs to the regular lounge.
Bottom line: Hot crowd, "not" location.

"Need the Right Mood"

Hushh or Hush or whatever it's named is not for everyone. It is a sex club and not a swing club. It is sort of like a mini-Green Door except smaller and smells better.
If you are an exhibitionist they have a nice stage, an exhibitionist room with a viewing window and a room with a swing. It also has a couples-only area. It is very clean and looks like it could be a jazz club.

Another plus is that while they don't have a liquor license, they will allow alcohol if you keep it discreet (in a purse or in one of their lockers).

On the down side, the strip mall it's in is pretty seedy and there will be lots of single vinnies wandering around thinking they can get sex. And they can. There will probably be a few working girls wandering around who will cater to them in the private rooms. They aren't supposed to bother couples but you can buy a lap dance and if you want more you can negotiate. Might be good if you want to buy your wife a lady for the first time but the quality of girls varies greatly.

The private rooms are extremely small and, as someone else said, the music kind of sucks. You could bring your own CD's if you want and they would play them.

We went there for a private event and had a great time as the facilities are nice. We've been there on a regular night and there was no one there except a few vinnies (so we did each other in the couples room and left). It's best to go in later (after 11 or so) on a weekend night. Bring your own friends and take advantake of the facilities because there might not be anyone else there to your liking. It takes a special mood to go there but we've had fun there so we give it one thumbs up.

"Very Nice House"

Not sure how long it will last (you know this town!) but this is a very nice party house. The kitchen/bar area is spacious, the dance floor is larger than some clubs and the back yard has a great pool. It also rocks to look up while dancing and see people above having sex while leaning over the railing.
We heard the A/C wasn't working in all the party rooms but it was ok in the rooms we were in. This house has great potential--enjoy it while you can! Too bad it's not open all the time.

"Good & Bad"

Dinner at Nobu was supposed to be a highlight of our "acting like a visitor" experience a few weekends ago but turned out to be a disappointment. The food was wonderful, as we expected, but deafening rock music and closely packed tables spoiled the evening.

We had to shout to converse with each other across the small table, and the staff were having trouble understanding orders over the noise. The restaurant was the antithesis of zen-like calm; perhaps reasonable given its location in the Hard Rock, but a disappointment if you've eaten at other Nobus and are expecting a similar, upscale experience.

The other people in the restaurant were very hot and fun to look at but to even try and carry on small talk with someone quite near was problematic. The bill ($110 for 2) was about half what we'd anticipated based on Nobu meals elsewhere though, so it's excellent value for money.

"It's Rockin'!"

This is a party hotel and even though we are locals we wanted to try it out. As soon as you walk in, you can sense the party atmosphere. Is not as snotty as other places so we really felt comfortable in this hotel!

It is definitely a younger crowd, so if you're over 30-something you might not like this place much; also if you don't really like the party atmosphere, well, you won't like it either!.. pink taco was real good and mr luckys as well!
Also I had a great time at Body English! we even got some free drink tickets by one of the promoters of the club and even got escorted to the front door of the club by one of the bouncers!! I will definitely go back again!

Everyone was very nice and helpful; check in was quick too. The room was very nice and clean and modern! Love the plasma! And the cd player in the room!!

"Not much change"

We took a trip to the Palomino Club thinking that the new owner might have classed the place up a bit. It doesn't look like much has changed.

The Palomino Club is the only Las Vegas strip club that features full nudity and also has a full liquor license. It's located pretty far north on Las Vegas Blvd., in North Las Vegas so it's not a quick trip. Unfortunately, the girls aren't really worth the trip. Most are somewhat out of shape and nearly all have that "pooch" on their belly. Since you get to see more exposure at this club maybe that's ok but so many of them looked like they were "on something" that we were very disappointed.

The crowd was all male and had that frat house atmosphere. The dancers avoided us like the plague so we never got a dance. Our waitress was cute and friendly, however, and the female bartender was nice, too (as was the big doorman up front).

We decided to go upstairs to check out the male dancers. The men are in much better shape than their female counterparts and seemed friendlier. The place was packed full of large, rowdy women having lots of fun. The dancers are all black and most are pretty good dancers with a few being amazingly limber. They never danced nude on the stage but we heard they do if the price is right. They get naked for $40 lap dances.

There are much better strip clubs for couples to go to see hot female dancers. For male dancers we preferred Olympic Gardens but this one wasn't bad, especially if your tastes are for black men.

"We Like This Place"

I know it's not the trendiest place in town but we always have fun here. Perhaps because it doesn't try to cater to the 20-something hotties all the time like many of the other clubs do. We seem to find more fun couples here, maybe because they are mid-30's, early 40's which are fine with us.

And now that they have remodled it it's even better. We don't go here all the time but when we do we remember why we like it.

"We Always Enjoy S&M, I Mean S&W"

While there are quite a few steak houses in Las Vegas we keep coming back to Smith & Wollensky. The hosts at the front always remember us (even if it's been a few months) and the workers are always very friendly.
Because of it's location (on the Strip, down from the MGM) it's a good place to meet out-of-towners. We will often meet them in the bar in the front and have a drink before moving to the table.
It's a huge restaurant so you can almost always get a table, even if there's a large convention in town. So, if you can't find a place that has room for you, remember this restaurant.

The steaks are always great and we love their crabcakes. We also buy bottles of their steak sauce as it's better than any we've tried.

The worst thing about S & W is getting to it as sometimes the Strip is so busy with cars and pedestrians that it can take awhile to get into the place.

Other than that minor inconvenience, S&W is an old standby we keep coming back to.
