"Stratta (Wynn)" 10/15/08 Attitude - 4 Eye Candy - 4 Price - 3

"Stratta Wowed Us"

Great food, great service, great wine, and close to the Le Reve theater. I really enjoyed our dinner at Stratta. The atmosphere is unique, with all types of tree branch art work that is pretty cool. The wine list is deep, with bottles starting at around $60. The menu has so many great choices, are party of four was each very pleased with their selection. I do recommend the lobster pasta--it's off the hook.

If you are going to see Le Rive this is the perfect pre or post restaurant to hit up. We are not easily impressed, but Stratta, you wowed us!

"Always Good"

We've stayed at most of the nicer hotels on the Strip and we keep coming back to Caesars. It's an old hotel but it doesn't seem like it with the modern clubs and rooms. They are planning on building again so maybe it will lose it's appeal but right now it's probably our favorite.

"Krave Lounge" 07/29/08 Attitude - 4 Eye Candy - 3 Price - 2

"A Good Party Place"

We've been to a lot of the clubs on the Strip and while this isn't nearly as upscale as a Pure or LAX it's a fun place to party. Maybe we're just tired of all the lines, the posing and the high drink prices but we felt at home at Krave Lounge (feels more like a "real" club we go to back home).

Anyway this is a great place to party and it's easy in and out (no casinos to walk through). We like it. We're going to check out the lesbian night next time!

"Better Than the Strip!"

This hotel is an absolute gem. I have been to Vegas many times and usually stayed in one of the hotels on the Strip. This time we decided to try an off-Strip property and we may never stay on the Strip again! We stayed in the Solitare Suite and it was fantastic. The room was huge. There was a full kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances; a living room with a fireplace and huge plasma tv; a lovely balcony; a huge bedroom with a super comfortable bed; and, last be not least,a fabulous bathroom with one of the largest bathtubs I have ever seen. Friends we met on this site were certainly impressed!
The property has a lounge, restaurant and pool - all of which were awesome, especially the pool. OK, so it doesn't have a casino but that was actually a plus when crawling "home" after a night of partying.
The location is behind Bally's and only a minute from the Strip. If you can get a room facing the Strip, do so, as it's an excellent view. The parking is valet only but the valets are all great and quick. I highly recommend staying here and I will definitely stay here again - soon!

"Treasures Gentlemen's Club and Steakhouse" 10/01/07 Attitude - 4 Eye Candy - 4 Price - 2

"Damn Good"

We come to Vegas fairly regularly and usually try and eat at least one good stake dinner while we are here (maybe more). We've tried most of steak joints and have our favorites so were skeptical when we saw Treasures advertised on this site. Quite often the restaurants of gentlemen's clubs aren't always top of the line (the last time we were in The Lodge in Dallas, for example). However, Las Vegas seems to have some exceptions. Before it closed, the Men's Club had a great restaurant (much better than the girls!) and we've heard the Scores restaurant is pretty good. So, we decided to try the Treasures 2 for 1 special listed on this site.

First of all, if you've never been to Treasures it's probably the most beautiful and classiest topless club in Las Vegas. I'm not sure how much the building cost but it looks incredibly expensive. It doesn't seem to be as well-known as other clubs but the girls have been upgraded from a visit a year or so ago and compare with the best in town.

The restaurant is very small, intimate and plush. It might only seat 40 or so. A few tables had single guys with some of the girls joining them at the table and while the ladies weren't naked they were nice to look at. We went with another lifestyle couple from Texas who we met off of this site. They also brought a coupon so we were both real cheap but Treasures didn't give us a problem as long as we didn't take a cab (then you can't use the coupons because of what the club has to pay the cabbies).

Anyway, the food was excellent and my porterhouse was probably the thickest steak I have ever eaten (even thicker than Chicago steakhouses!) and cooked perfectly--very rare like I like it. The Mrs.' filet was excellent, too--she almost didn't need a knife.

Our friends raved about their food, too (the porterhouse and the pork chops) so I know we will be back. Plus, they honored the coupons with no questions and we got a filet and pork chops free! Gotta love that!!

"KA" 04/18/07 Attitude - 3 Eye Candy - 2 Price - 4

"A Money Waster"

Mrs. C and I took advantage of some Twofers last night and went to see KA. Somebody ought to advise visitors to Vegas that if they want to take in a Cirque Show, they can go to any one of the other 6 or 7 (depending on the time of year) places in Vegas and plunk down an outrageous amount money and be entertained. Spending a dime on KA is wasting valuable penny-slot money.

The show, if you can call it that, mainly consists of a stage that can do some nice tricks (David Copperfield might actually have a use for it) but no performers that can. Featured are some semi-muscular people hung on ropes being slung about to some mostly canned music with garbled vocals.

At the beginning a disemboweled voice mentions some unintelligible story line that never materialized about a boy and a girl who I am sure we saw but were unable to tell which was which. The closest thing to death defying that we saw was two guys running around in a squirrel cage. That certainly could have been more exciting if the archers wasted in a scene earlier in the show would have been allowed to try to bring one of them down with a well timed bolt to the groin. But then who am I to try to polish a turd?

When the show mercifully ended, the couple from Seattle sitting next to us asked "What the fuck just happened?" We explained that while there was some real entertainment here in Vegas for a few hundred bucks for two it just doesn't seem to be available at the MGM.

Not enough Cirque way too much Soleil (is soleil French for pretentious bullshit?). The people who conceived this show only got the title half right—it should be “KA KA”.

My wife has reviewed this review and has vowed to send her own less negative review. She clapped exactly three times during the show last night. Judge whatever she writes by the fact that she applauds her nieces and nephews for making dookie in the big pottie.

"Le Reve" 11/28/06 Attitude - 4 Eye Candy - 4 Price - 3

"Better Than "O""

We had heard some great reviews and a few poor reviews on this show. Don't listen to any of the poor reviews. They appear to come from mainly people who are better suited to the free lounge acts in the casino. The technical achievement alone is worth the price. This is far superior to most of the Cirque shows based on the performances and uniqueness of the show. There are no bad seats to the circular theater. In fact, I recommened the back rows since much of the action coming from the ceiling is at eye level from the back seats.

The performances themselves are not overloaded with characters standing on the stage with no purpose while the main performance is taking place. Get to your seats at least 15 minutes before because there is a preshow that blends in with the actual start of the show. I

I've also read some reviews on other sites where people were offended by acts of "homosexualty" and "nudism". This made me want to see the show all the more! Unfortunately, I don't recall seeing very much girl on girl action but may have missed it since my attention was focused elsewhere. The brief topless dancer was quite attractive but danced and moved so fast it was hard to tell if she was actually totally topless, but again that's not the point of the show.

If you haven't seen "O" or this show, see Le Reve. The tickets prices are much less expensive than the Cirque shows but has to be a show that must be just as expensive to produce on a nightly basis. Hear that Cirque people?

"Imperial Palace" 11/14/06 Attitude - 2 Eye Candy - 2 Price - 1

"Mostly Bad Except Price and Location"

I've stayed at several hotels in Vegas: Paris, Bellagio, Ballys, MGM, NYNY, and Mirage. I got a good rate so I decided to try the Imperial Palace--$80 a night on a weekend in July, very very cheap. BUT once I arrived at the hotel I noticed right away why it is so cheap. Of course, I did not expect to find anything close to Bellagio or any other fancier hotels on the strip but it was a bit of a let down. I would say it's more of a 1 or 2-star motel than the 3-star hotel that it claims to be. The service was nothing out of the oridinary, the hotel design is quite tacky, the casino smells very bad, and the parking structuring was horrible. We used the valet service most of the time, but when you arrive back at the hotel very late the valet is usually full and you have no choice but to self park. It was a long walk to our room.

We usually go to Vegas to party so I don't lounge around in the rooms but next time, I'd rather pay a few more dollars and stay at least at Ballys. The room was just like something you would find at any motel along the side of any freeway. It was a newly "re-modeled" deluxe room, but the decor of the room was just dull, furnitures were all scratched, some parts of the wallpaper were peeling off, and worst of all...the bathroom smelled like urine.

Our room was right on top of Harrah's courtyard so we could hear music much of the night. Not bad when you are entertaining but it kind of sucks when you want to sleep.

Well, I guess it all comes down to the price. It's either pay less and stay in a motel quality hotel or pay more for an actual hotel. I would definitely not recommend it to anyone who is visiting Vegas with their families. It's just good for a nights sleep and to change clothes and it's close to much nicer places, too.

"Fremont Street Experience" 11/08/06 Attitude - 3 Eye Candy - 2 Price - 2

"Fremont Street Getting Better"

While in Vegas I recommend going downtown but there are a few things you should know.

The Pro’s
The Fremont Street Experience is awesome. There is a different show every hour on the hour and lasts approximately 5 minutes. The sound is incredible and the graphics and lights are nothing like you have ever seen before.

Everything on Fremont Street is cheap!! From food to drink you will definitely save some money. To buy a beer on the strip is anywhere from 4-5 bucks VS. downtown the beer prices start around $2.25. Plus, you can roam from casino to casino with your drink in hand.

There is a lot of security. The casinos are smaller than and not quite as crowded as the newer or larger resorts. There is a new light show and it's a bit sexier than it used to be.

The Con’s

To get downtown via cab from the strip will cost you from 12-17 bucks. The Monorail does not run from the strip to downtown.

The casinos are old, smell like smoke, and not really that exciting. I have stayed at the Plaza before and it is a dump. I cannot imagine how the other hotels are. Stay on the strip.

There are some shady characters out and about, be careful. When the lights go out during the Fremont Show, keep your wallet or purse close to you because you will be distracted by looking up. A lot of Con artists hang around there looking for a fast and quick dollar. Do not buy anything from people unless they are a vendor. There are a lot of beggars asking for money. Security does a good job of keeping them at bay though. While Downtown can be scary if you venture too far off of Fremont Street, it is getting better with places like Hogs n Heiffers and Triple George Restuarant.

"Crazy Girls" 10/31/06 Attitude - 2 Eye Candy - 3 Price - 3

"It Sucks!"

My wife and I were in Vegas and she told me she would like to see a sensual girls show... nice, don't u think? She had read some reviews and found this show called "Crazy Gilrs" so we decided to go... oooh myyy Goooood, what a rip off! What's crazy about these girls? Let me tell you... nothing, nada, zero! You can get the same show (actually, you probably get a better show) at your local strip club back at home! I just can't believe they are charging so much for this show. The entrance for this show should be $20 with one drink included.

The girls don't even sing, they were lip-synching all the time! Yes, there are some very beautiful girls (not all of them as you would expect) with great bodies... but that is as crazy as it gets! There's nothing erotic about this show besides the fact that the girls are almost naked.

Gosh, when we left we thought about going back to the box office to ask for our money back. I just could not believe we paid about $75 total for this crap (and by the way, we paid $75 because we got the tickets at half the price!!!) The best part of the show was the juggler... which is really sad! I mean we wanted to see "crazy girls" not a circus juggler!

Stay away from this show... it should be cancelled. Oh, I almost forgot about the theater... let's just say that a theater at any high school in the US is probably better equipped than this theater! Yes, this show sucks!

"Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas" 10/31/06 Attitude - 4 Eye Candy - 3 Price - 3

"Good Hideaway"

We spent 3 nights here in September to celebrate my husband's birthday and were more than pleased. This hotel is great choice if you like to get away from the craziness of Vegas!!

It's elegant with top notch service as you would expect in addition to being well located within the Mandalay Bay Complex but very peaceful and quiet. As a Four Seasons guest you have full privledges at Mandalay's more festive pools but the Mandalay guests do not have reciprocal rights which keeps the Four Seasons so quiet! The Veranda was a delightful place to enjoy breakfast or early evening cocktails and the rooms were wonderful.

We liked being able to enjoy the clubs and bars (and pools) of Mandalay and then to slip back to the Four Seasons for some quiet recuperation.

My only complaint is that the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the strip were very dirty.

Otherwise a winning choice!! We'll definitely return.

"California Hotel" 10/24/06 Attitude - 3 Eye Candy - 2 Price - 2

"Rooms Quite Scary"

We stayed in the east tower at California Hotel and Casino Las Vegas. We are always meeting our Hawaiian relatives that the hotel caters to, as does the adjoining Main Street Hotel and Casino. That is the main reason why we stay downtown. We prefer The Main Street a lot more, but they were booked for the weekend we were there. So we booked The California Hotel and Casino.

This time around, our room was ghetto. Dirty carpet, dirty tile and grout in the bathroom, mildew around the faucet on the sink, the shower curtain smelled of mildew as well. We were there for the weekend for a family party at one of the Main Street's ballroom's, so we had the kids with us. We didn't want the kids touching anything! The room was filthy. The remote control and telephone looked like they had never been cleaned. We were scared to touch the light switches without using a tissue. It was disgusting.

My parents room, and my sister's room were filthy as well so it wasn't just ours. Although the casino paid off great for us, we will only stop by there to gamble if we're ever downtown again, but never to stay. If you prefer to stay downtown, pay a few more dollars and stay at The Golden Nugget. Very nice hotel.

The buffet at the Marketplace Cafe in the California is only five dollars, but not that great of a buffet. Go to Main Street's buffet for only $7.99 and it was on of the best buffets downtown. California and Main Street Hotel are connected to each other. You don't even have to step foot outside to get to one or the other. If you are from Hawaii and getting in on a Hawaiian package, stay at Main Street, not California, you will have a nice and better room for your money. Main Street's casino is also much nicer than the California's. Aloha!!

"Sand Dollar Blues Lounge" 03/14/06 Attitude - 3 Eye Candy - 2 Price - 2

"A Fun Dump"

We actually went to this place because we found it listed on this site and we have to say, it is indeed a dump (as the symbol indicates) but it doesn't deserve the tombstone it was given because it wasn't dead at all.

The Saturday night we went it was pretty packed and everyone seemed to be having a rollicking good time. The band got women to flash their breasts for drinks, people were dancing to the blues and between sets you could smoke a doob with the band. Where else in town can we find that? (If you know, please tell us!)

Granted the crowd was a bit on the "rode hard" side but they were friendly and we had a blast.
