"A Lot of Luxury for the Money"

From the NY Times

Hotel Review: Aria Resort and Casino in Las Vegas
"CityCenter, a new $8.5 billion development on the Las Vegas Strip, is a gutsy effort to bring modern architecture to a city known for kitsch.
...
The hotel is huge, and it feels that way, but thanks to thoughtful design, it also feels luxurious and, at times, even cozy.
...
The TV had an easy-to-use interface, as did the touch-screen system that controls the lights and drapes — bravo on the technology front.
...
Given that there are more than 4,000 bathrooms in the building, it’s a good thing the designers got them right.
...
It’s hard to think of an amenity the hotel lacks.
...
The vast pool area, which is expected to open later this month, couldn’t be more beautiful, with thick groves of palm trees separating the three large, teardrop-shaped pools.
...
A standard room is $149. For that, the hotel delivers a lot of luxury."

"Aria Hotel"

We have stayed at just about every one of the nicer hotels in Vegas. Aria is by far our new favorite. Rooms are amazing, staff was great, over 15 places to eat. Price at Aria was very competitive to any place else we have stayed. Unless we are in Vegas for a takeover event, we will be staying at Aria from now on

"Aria - A work in Progress"

Stayed here last month to get a feel for the resort. It has a cool modern vibe, but the service is still a bit weak. The first room I checked into was not clean...empty water bottles, someone's old hair gel on the counter? I requested another room by phone and was reassured that this room would be ready, just go to the new room. Despite their assurances, I went back down to the front desk knowing that there was no way my existing room key would work in the new room.

The people who work the front desk are pretty lost...first woman I had could not enunciate, I had to lean over the counter and stick my ear in front of her mouth to hear what she was saying, second visit to the front desk to get my new room cards, the woman clearly could not use the key card machine correctly as I saw the light on the machine turn red a few times before she gave up and gave me a key that I knew was not going to work.

I am not very picky about most things but incompetence is not acceptable at a so called 4-5 star resort...

Ok, the pros, room has very nice integrated electronics, lighting, curtains, tv controls were easy to use...Bedding was very nice and comfortable...the spa facilities are great, loved the heated granite beds...

Overall, I will probably give Aria another chance, but some front desk training and improved housekeeping needs to be addressed ASAP.
