Inside the Four Queens downtown

A sister club to the Canyon Club in L.A., this venue is unexpectedly nice located inside the Four Queens Hotel downtown.

Doors open at 6pm, concerts begin at 8pm ...followed by fun and dancing at 11pm:

"If there's a middle ground in the land of Vegas concert venues, the Canyon Club occupies it, both in terms of size and ticket price. Open for about a month, the 7,500-square-foot venue in the Four Queens hotel-casino is still very much a work in progress, with the full sound system having just been installed, says owner Lance Sterling, who also owns the Agoura Hills version.

Despite that it's still shaking out the mats and linking up the wires, the Canyon Club has the look and feel of a timeworn tour stop saturated in legend. Admittedly, a lot of this is because of the rock-god memorabilia lining the walls and encased in 14 wood-and-glass table tops dotting the venue. And a lot of it has to do with the Asian décor (featuring statues, rugs and more) from Indonesia and India, which exudes an aura of of ancient and mystical cultures. But there's something else here, something ... ah, you'll just have to experience it for yourself.

There are two bars on either side of the stage, plus a VIP area equipped with booths and an Alice in Wonderland-sized chair, plus a bed in the back for customers with creaky knees, or those who maybe had too much to drink. Besides booking acts such as Los Lobos and Craig Shoemaker (tickets usually hover between $20 and $40), the Canyon Club has live-music events with reappearing cover bands performing '80s, classic rock and more Wednesdays through Saturdays."

"Hamrik as Tom Jones at Canyon Club"

The Las Vegas Review-Journal's Mike Weathford reviews Hamrik as Tom Jones

"The eyes have it. They bulge, roll and leer.

The mouth has it, too. Harmik, the Tom Jones impersonator, explains the key to the pop legend's essence is looking like "the cat that ate the canary."

"It's a confidence you can't describe," he says.

Harmik's confidence booster is looking as much like the real Jones as any other human is ever likely to. Let's take the high road and skip the whole "Tom Jones: Sock or no sock?" debate. Let's just say that from the chin up it's an amazing resemblance, from the lascivious grin to the crow's feet around his eyes."
