An article about the 25th anniversary of Jubilee.

"This year marks the 20th anniversary of Donn Arden's lavish stage spectacular. There's A-1 tune-crooning, million-dollar sets, and the most glitter this side of Hollywood with costumes by Bob Mackie. Jubilee! is one of the longest running extravaganzas in Las Vegas. It continues to rate as one of Las Vegas’ finest production shows. With incredible sets, costumes, and special effects, Jubilee! is a must-see attraction for any Las Vegas visitor."

"Old School Show"
I hadn't seen Jubilee for years and the Mrs. had never seen it and wanted to see an old school Vegas show. Considering the vignette storylines are pretty corny (Sampson, Titanic, etc.) and the male dancers aren't very particularly convincing as macho characters, we enjoyed the show overall.
First and foremost are the breasts. There are lots of them in all shapes and sizes and it's kind of fun to try and figure out where your favorite pairs are on the stage despite all the elaborate masks and costumes.
The stage is pretty cool. It isn't a new wave Ka stage but if you have any stagehand experience you would know this one would keep you busy flying in a ton of sets, including the famous sinking Titanic set.
The costumes are elaborate and don't let up--I mean, there are literally 100's if not 1000's of them. The seamstress must keep busy patching and sewing and replacing feathers as I didn't see any that looked worse for wear.

It's not a show to be taken seriously--I was actually laughing at it a few times when I suppose I shouldn't have been--but it's definitely an old school show with some nice offerings and ya gotta wonder how much longer you'll be able to see it before the town becomes Cirque-ified.
