Mr. Admin and his Too Low Crew performing in New Jersey

Every blue moon or so--if you're lucky enough to be at just the right lifestyle event and Mr. Admin has had just the right amount of Schnappes and there's just the right old school groove hits the turntable--ALL's Mr. Admin will bust a few hip hop moves on the dance floor. If you've ever seen it, it’s quite an amazing sight.

What you probably don't know, however, is that Mr. Admin has a dance crew that pops and locks its way through Tuesday evenings at the Whitney Ranch Community Center. The "Too Low Crew" as they are called, is in training in an attempt to qualify for the USA Hip Hop Championship with the overall goal of reaching the 2010 World Hip Hop Dance Championship which takes place in Las Vegas at the end of July.

Mr. Admin is particularly known for his innovative free-stylin' and his patented "Poppin' Hip" move where his lower torso seems to become disconnected from his upper body. "It's something that just happened while I was busking on the streets of Sun City Summerlin a few years ago," said Admin. "I was absolutely bumpin' to the funk on the box, pulling a totally sick break move, when suddenly my left leg came out of the socket of my new artificial hip. At first I was freakin' but then I got it under control and started poppin' the leg and hip in a beasty herk-da-jerk motion that totally sent my b-boyin' to the dopest level."

Dopest level, indeed, as Mr. LowLife became known far and wide for his new signature move and rose to the top of the Las Vegas street scene ranks, going so far as to win the solo competition at the USA Championships. Unfortunately, just as he was readying himself for the World Championship, he popped both legs out of their hip sockets and had to be rushed to the hospital to get his legs inserted back into his hips.

"At first I was like whoa--a Double Poppin' Hip--I'm gonna be off the hook," Admin recalled. "But then when my shit folded and I fell over without being able to move I knew it was hella janky--I was shot to the curb."

Mr. Admin never made it to the Worlds and ended up retiring from competition, concentrating on what he does best--approving profile photos, answering questions about American LowLife and kicking off a-holes. "Jus' marinating," offers Admin. "Jus' keepin' it gangsta."

All of that changed, though, when he ventured into into Whitney Ranch Community Center to see what a class called "Senior Hip Hop" was all about. There he found a very talented group of all-female hip hop dancers who were in need of a coach and mentor, someone to refine their hip hop game. "The b-girls needed a boss baller and, considering my experience and how pop I am with the ladies, I was the perfect one for the job," Admin recalls.

Since Mr. Admin met the Whitney crew, the Too Low Crew was formed and they've displayed their talents at many venues, including a number of NBA arenas during halftime (see photo, left). "These girls get so jiggy out there, we just go stupid, ya know?" Admin exclaims excitedly. "I don't see how we won't get to the World's and dom it."

But first the Too Low Crew has to qualify via the US Championships (Senior Division) which is being held at Red Rock Resort July 25-27. If they do well there then they'll automatically qualify for the World Championships with the prelims starting July 27th (also at Red Rock) and the Championship event which will be at the Orleans Arena. In all, over 1,500 of the top street dancers from 30 countries will be in Las Vegas so even if Mr. Admin's crew doesn't make it, there will still be plenty of talent worth seeing.

Good luck, Mr. Admin and the Too Low Crew!

Here's the LowLife event listing for the Hip Hop Dance Championships and here's an article about a British crew--the UK Hip Hop Champions--who have qualified for the event but still have to earn enough money to make it to Vegas.
